Radiating outwards from Zurich and its artists, the Schauspielhaus is connecting with other artists, theatres and cities. This network around the new Schauspielhaus includes the directors Christiane Jatahy, Christoph Marthaler and Milo Rau, with whose existing and developing work the Schauspielhaus Zürich wants to form a long-term connection. Christiane Jatahy will make her debut at the Schauspielhaus with her polymorphic Chekhov/Shakespeare/Strindberg trilogy. With Das Weinen (Das Wähnen), Christoph Marthaler is offering us the premiere of his evening devoted to Dieter Roth to Zurich. And Milo Rau will be showing his classical adaptation Orestes in Mosul in Zurich.

The Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Schauspielhaus Zürich have agreed on a long-term collaboration. In practical terms, this partnership will be expressed by the Schauspielhaus Zürich regularly showing one production per season from Bochum in the next few years. Conversely, one production of the Schauspielhaus Zürich will also travel to Germany and be shown in series in Bochum. The first instance of this exchange, in our first season, will be the transfer of two productions by the two artistic directors Johan Simons and Nicolas Stemann.
