11.–15. September 2019

In order to get to know each other the opening festival will gather a work from each of the in-house directors as well as Nicolas Stemann. These works are so formative and personal that the directors would like to introduce themselves with the respective productions in Zurich and then include it in the repertoire of the Schauspielhaus. Some of the productions have already travelled long distances, some of them on several continents. But all eight bring stories from somewhere else to create resonance with the Here and Now. In this sense - let's meet: Das Internet by Alexander Giesche, Flex by Suna Gürler, Franz Xaver Kroetz' Wunschkonzert by Yana Ross, Miranda July's Der erste fiese Typ (The First Bad Man) by Christopher Rüping, Sudden Rise by Wu Tsang's group Moved by the Motion, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust Ⅰ & Ⅱ by Nicolas Stemann, Ödön von Horváth's Kasimir and Karoline von Leonie Böhm and In the Mood for Frankie by Trajal Harrell.
