Sex, School and Theatre – it's complicated

an audience talk in the context of Frühlings Erwachen with youngsters, parents, teachers and cultural mediators

School and sex. Sex and theatre. Theatre and school. These combinations of words regularly cause irritation, sweating and overreaction - among teachers, parents and politicians. But why? Who decides how teachers can discuss sex in class, what students are allowed to see on stage, which pieces belong in the curriculum and, above all, what is not okay? And what do the youngsters actually say to that?

On the podium: Suna Gürler (director of Frühlings Erwachen and director of theater pedagogy at the Schauspielhaus Zürich), Beat Krebs (head of schule&kultur canton Zurich), young people from the production, parents and teachers (tba)
